THE PURPLE SHAMROCK
Boston, MA

In order to compete more effectively for the tourist business that drives this Faneuil Hall locale, and to capture a greater food revenue, The Glynn Hospitality Group needed to update the look of this well-known drinking spot. The DLA concept updates the Shamrock's traditional Irish theme with a nod to Boston's political history. New photographic murals depicting the life of legendary Mayor James Michael Curley, upon whose life the novel "The Purple Shamrock"was based, plus oversized custom lighting and simple limestone motifs redefine the interior. Outside, a large stainless steel, aluminum and copper sign effusively welcomes patrons.

BOSTON KING COFFEE
Woburn, MA

This is the first U.S. debut of a successful international chain of Italian-style coffee shops, whose corporate headquarters are in Korea. The1,500 square foot shop in the Five Corners section of Woburn, MA, offers made-to-oder gourmet sandwiches and salads at moderate prices in a stylish, coontemporary setting that is considerably more comfortable than its other fast food competition.

CROMA
Newbury Street
Boston, MA

The former location of Davio's restaurant on Boston's toney Newbury Street, received a $2M interior/exterior reconstruction to bring light and air into this previously dark, narrow space, housed in a historic 19th century townhouse. Extensive interior structural work by DLA brought life to the vision of the company's Italian designer. DLA also led the process of restoring the historic exterior, which sits within the Back Bay Architectural District, and worked to satisfy extensive state and municipal constraints. The result is a white tablecloth pizzeria that is modern and airy on the inside, yet appropriately respectful of its architectural neighbors on the outside. An instant hit !
